Terms & Conditions – Elegant Investigations
By instructing Elegant Investigations to proceed with a case on your behalf, you are agreeing in full to the terms listed below. These terms are here to protect both you (the client) and us (Elegant Investigations).
General Disclaimer
Elegant Investigations provides this website and its contents on an “as-is” basis and makes no representations or warranties of any kind with respect to the site or its content. While we make every effort to ensure accuracy, information may contain technical inaccuracies or typographical errors. Elegant Investigations excludes all liability, to the fullest extent permitted by law, for any loss or damage arising from the use of this site or its content.
Neither Elegant Investigations, nor any of its directors, employees, or representatives, will be liable for damages arising out of or in connection with the use of this website or our services. This includes, without limitation, compensatory, direct, indirect, or consequential damages, loss of data, income or profit, loss of or damage to property, and claims of third parties.
Use of this website or any services described on it signifies your agreement with these terms.

Services will be provided in accordance with these terms and the scope agreed with the client.
Delivery of Services

Start Date: Surveillance or general investigative services will commence at a time agreed by both parties. Trace instructions are subject to their own specific terms.

Completion: Services will be deemed complete once the agreed objective has been achieved or when Elegant Investigations deems the service to have reached a natural conclusion.

While every effort is made to ensure results, certain conditions such as weather, traffic, subject behaviour, or incomplete information provided by the client may affect the outcome. Elegant Investigations cannot be held liable for such limitations.
Surveillance & Reporting

Daily updates may be offered, though in some cases these may be verbal rather than in full written reports (depending on operational circumstances).

Photographic or video evidence is not always possible, particularly in close contact or sensitive surveillance environments. Covert equipment may be used where possible, but cannot be guaranteed.

If a subject is lost during surveillance, no refunds (partial or full) will be issued.
Background & Asset Checks

Results are based on the quality and accuracy of information supplied by the client. If incomplete or false information is provided, Elegant Investigations cannot be held responsible for the accuracy of results.

Background and asset checks rely on open-source intelligence and lawful discreet enquiries. They are not an exact science, and certain information may not be obtainable. Refunds will not be issued where information is unavailable.
Person Tracing

Person traces are conducted on a “no success, no fee” basis unless otherwise agreed.

Clients must provide accurate and verifiable information to initiate a trace. False or incomplete details may result in a negative outcome, and in such cases, fees will not be refunded.

All trace results include the current address of the subject (where located) and, where available, additional details such as cohabitants, phone numbers, or employment details. These extras are provided free of charge and cannot be guaranteed.
Limitation of Liability
Elegant Investigations’ liability (in contract, tort, or otherwise) will be limited to the cost of the service provided. Under no circumstances will Elegant Investigations be liable for:

Loss of profits, goodwill, or business

Loss of data or consequential damages

Costs incurred by the client in relation to travel, legal proceedings, or third-party services following our reports
Nothing in this clause excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence.
Payment Terms

All fees must be paid in full and in advance, unless otherwise agreed in writing. Reports will not be released until payment has been received in full.

Payments may be made by bank transfer, card, or cheque. International clients may incur additional fees.

Overdue payments will attract an interest charge of 2% per calendar month, and any costs incurred in recovering debts (including legal or enforcement costs) will be passed to the client.
Cancellations

Once an investigation or surveillance operation is booked, cancellations cannot be accepted due to the pre-booking of operatives.

Person tracing cancellations are subject to a £95 administration fee.
Complaints
-
Complaints must be submitted in writing within 7 days, along with supporting evidence.

Abuse of staff or investigators will not be tolerated.

Posting complaints publicly on social media or review sites before giving Elegant Investigations the opportunity to resolve them will forfeit any right to refunds or retraces.
Confidentiality & Legal Compliance

Elegant Investigations operates strictly within UK law and the Data Protection Act 2018.

If at any stage it becomes apparent that a case is illegal or in breach of safeguarding, harassment, or privacy laws, Elegant Investigations reserves the right to terminate the case immediately with no refund.

Client information will only be used to manage the case or pursue payment if required. Reports are retained for 31 days before secure deletion.
Governing Law
These terms and conditions are governed by English law. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.
