Refund Policy

At Elegant Investigations, we strive to provide accurate, discreet, and professional private investigation services across the UK. Please read our refund policy carefully before engaging our services.

1. Trace Services

• Refunds are not normally provided unless explicitly agreed at the outset of any investigative work.

• If a trace we provide proves to be inaccurate within 30 days of notifying the client of completion, we reserve the right to either:

  • Provide a full refund, or

  • Initiate a retrace at no additional cost until all avenues have been exhausted.

• If the client obtains the required address from a third party, either within 30 days or thereafter, no refund will be issued.

• Should alternative or contradicting results be obtained from a third party after the case is completed, no refund will be issued, either in part or in full.

• Elegant Investigations is not responsible for any expenses incurred if a client travels to a traced address, uses another company, or instructs Bailiffs/High Court Enforcement Officers.

• All traces are conducted on a “Deceased or Alive” basis. If the traced person is deceased, we will provide evidence where possible; otherwise, the client may be referred to the relevant Register Office.

 

2. Surveillance Services

• Once a surveillance case is confirmed, cancellations are not accepted due to pre-booking and payments for operatives.

• If a cancellation is received after confirmation or commencement of assignments, all outstanding fees will remain payable.

• Multiple sessions must be completed within three weeks, and all sessions must be confirmed within seven days of the initial session.

• All communication regarding cancellations or confirmations must be in writing to maintain file continuity.

 

3. Client Responsibilities

• If a client withholds relevant case information which later becomes available, Elegant Investigations reserves the right to cancel the agreement. Any payments made will not be refunded.

• If a client instructs another agency for the same trace or cancels a trace instruction after engagement, we reserve the right to charge a cancellation fee of £95.

 

4. Payment Terms

• All fees must be paid in full before sending any report or related information unless prior arrangements are made.

• Some services may require full payment in advance, and the client will be notified upon acceptance of instructions.

• We offer multiple payment methods, including Visa/Mastercard, bank transfers, and cheques in Pounds Sterling. Clients are responsible for ensuring successful payment via these methods. Elegant Investigations is not liable for failed payments.
